This is why, if I could still vote in the Philippines, I’ll never ever vote for Mar Roxas:
Yes, it is true—no one is perfect, everyone has faults… But what, for me, is unforgivable with Mar Roxas was his readiness to use other people’s misery as an opportunity to look good. Granted, he was on-site in Leyte in the aftermath of typhoon Haiyan (locally known as Yolanda); but did he do anything substantial (read: anything to actually help the victims) there, besides making sure the media sees he was physically there?
Then there was this issue with the SAF 44 being massacred in Mamasapano a year ago. He could profess all he wants that he was left in the dark there, but what kind of leader is he if he can’t even command the respect of his department, so much so that they actually went behind his back? Certainly not the type of leader the Philippines needs at this time.
